Insights
Aged on its fine lees in French oak barrels for 15 months, Castelnau de Suduirautis the second wine produced by the prestigious Grand Cru Classé Château Suduiraut. The estate’s gravelly, sandy-clay soil captures the sun’s heat helping the grapes reach maturity more rapidly, contributing to the wine’s opulence, whilst the thin soil retains little water which concentrates the sugar and flavours in the grapes. Tartrate deposits may appear in the bottle; this is a natural phenomenon owing to the richness of the wine and will have no bearing on the quality or the taste of the wine.
